Important Information
We love travelling the world and sharing real experiences, tips and inspiration along the way. That said, there are a few important legal and practical things we need to cover so everyone knows where they stand. This page brings all of that information together in one place.
About Us
Born to Travel Forced to Work is a travel advisory website specialising in personalised travel counselling services, alongside general travel inspiration, advice and opinions based on our own experiences.
All of the content on this website documents places we’ve been, what we’ve seen and done, things we’ve learned and lessons picked up along the way. Unless you formally engage our personalised travel counselling services, the information we share should be taken as general travel commentary and opinions on personal experience, not tailored advice on where and why you should or shouldn’t travel.
If you choose to engage our travel counselling services, we then provide personalised travel counselling based on your preferences, needs and circumstances, which will be separately agreed. Until that point, we’re simply sharing our journey, insights and opinions as fellow travellers.
You can learn more about us on our homepage.

International Travel Advice
We love sharing travel experiences and insights, but international travel conditions can change quickly. Political situations, safety concerns, health risks and security issues can override even the best-planned trips.
Every government provides official guidance to its citizens on where they should and shouldn’t travel, including entry rules, visa requirements and health advice. We will never recommend travelling to a destination that your own government advises against.
If you choose to travel contrary to official government advice:
Your travel insurance may be invalid
You may have limited or no access to consular assistance
In extreme cases, you could be stranded without support
For these reasons, you should always check your own government’s travel advice before booking and again before travelling. Official government guidance typically covers:
Whether you should or shouldn’t go to a destination
Visa and entry requirements
Passport validity rules
Vaccination and health advice
Local laws, customs and safety considerations
Examples of official government travel advisory services include:
Australia – Smartraveller: https://www.smartraveller.gov.au
Canada – Travel Advice and Advisories: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories
Ireland – Travel Advice by Destination: https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/overseas-travel/advice
New Zealand – SafeTravel: https://www.safetravel.govt.nz
United Kingdom – Foreign Travel Advice: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
United States – US Department of State (Bureau of Consular Affairs): https://travel.state.gov
Checking your own government’s travel advice helps ensure you meet all entry and health requirements and can travel safely, legally and with appropriate support if needed. If you hold dual nationality, you should also review the rules of your destination and your government, including how the passport you use to enter a country may affect the consular assistance available to you.
